Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to contestlog.ca and ContestLog Canada's directory, tracker, account, and related tools. By using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Independent Directory

ContestLog is an independent directory of Canadian contests, sweepstakes, giveaways, and related promotions. Unless a listing is clearly identified as sponsored, ContestLog is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the brands and organizations that operate listed contests. Trademarks and brand names belong to their respective owners.

2. Official Rules and Listing Accuracy

Contest information can change without notice. We work to provide useful descriptions, eligibility information, frequencies, prizes, and deadlines, but do not guarantee that every listing is complete, current, or error-free.

The sponsor's current official rules control eligibility, entry limits, deadlines, winner selection, prize conditions, and all disputes. You are responsible for reading those rules and confirming that you may enter and accept the prize.

3. Eligibility and Age

You must be at least 13 to create or use a ContestLog account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the service only with permission from a parent or guardian. Individual sponsors may impose higher age requirements or other eligibility conditions.

4. Accounts and Tracker Data

• Provide accurate account information and keep it current.
• Protect your credentials and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
• Do not create accounts for impersonation, abuse, evasion, or automated activity.
• Understand that tracker records are organizational tools and do not prove that a sponsor received or accepted an entry.
• Maintain your own copies of information that is important to you.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not:

• Scrape, crawl, copy, or extract the service through unauthorized automated means
• Probe, scan, bypass, or interfere with security, access controls, rate limits, or authentication
• Introduce malware, overload the service, or disrupt other users
• Use ContestLog to violate contest rules, laws, or third-party rights
• Republish substantial portions of our directory, descriptions, guides, or database
• Submit false, unlawful, infringing, or malicious custom content

6. User-Supplied and Custom Contest Information

You retain responsibility for custom contest information you add to your tracker or send to ContestLog. You grant us the limited rights necessary to store, process, display to you, and operate the requested feature. Do not submit confidential information, unlawful material, or content you do not have permission to use.

7. Intellectual Property

ContestLog's software, design, original descriptions, guides, branding, organization, and other original material are owned by ContestLog or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These Terms allow personal, non-commercial use of the service and do not transfer ownership or grant permission for bulk reproduction.

8. External Websites, Sponsors, and Advertising

ContestLog links to sponsor websites and third-party platforms that we do not control. Your activity on those services is governed by their rules, terms, and privacy practices. We are not responsible for their availability, security, content, entry processing, or prize fulfillment.

ContestLog may display advertising or clearly labelled sponsored listings. Advertising does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee. Sponsored relationships do not change a sponsor's responsibility for its contest or ContestLog's commitment to identify paid placements.

9. Service Availability and Changes

We may change, suspend, remove, or discontinue features or content, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, security incidents, provider outages, data loss, or other events may affect access. We may correct listings and remove expired, suspicious, unlawful, or inappropriate content at any time.

10. Disclaimer

ContestLog is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that using the directory or tracker will result in a valid entry or prize. ContestLog does not provide legal, tax, financial, or contest-administration advice.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ContestLog and its owner, operators, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost opportunities, lost data, or losses arising from third-party contests, sponsor websites, prize quality, disqualification, entry errors, or service interruptions.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits rights available under applicable consumer-protection law.

12. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using ContestLog at any time and may request account deletion. We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a Terms violation, abuse, security risk, legal requirement, or threat to the service or its users.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without limiting any mandatory rights you may have under the law of your province or territory.

14. Changes and Contact

We may update these Terms as the service changes. The current revision date appears at the top of this page. Continued use after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
